MuteBand1. Install VB-CABLE
Install the free VB-CABLE virtual audio driver from VB-Audio, then restart your computer.
2. Install MuteBand
Open the customer portal link in your purchase e-mail and download the MuteBand installer (about 35 MB). Run it and enter the license key from your purchase e-mail when asked: the installer uses it to download the separation models (about 3.5 GB) and to activate MuteBand. Keep your computer online until it finishes; it needs about 5 GB of free disk space.
3. First start
MuteBand activates itself with the key you entered during installation (internet needed). Afterwards it works offline for up to 30 days. To move to another computer, use License > Remove from this computer.
4. Choose your devices
In MuteBand, set Input to CABLE Output. Set Output to your headphones or speakers. Keep Automatically route Windows output through MuteBand switched on.
5. Start your music
Press Start in MuteBand, then play music in any player. The sound will be a few seconds behind the original.
6. Make your mix
Use Mute buttons or keys 1–5 for the five channels. Use sliders to turn instruments down. Key 0 resets the mix. Use − / + for pitch. Mute at most two channels at once; use fewer on slower computers.
7. Troubleshooting
No sound? Check the Output device. Installation stopped while downloading? Check your internet connection and run the installer again. For other problems, use Help > Report a problem in the app and attach the diagnostic report when contacting support.
